We market to a wide range of different industries and market sectors but the one I really like working in is the Hotel and Leisure Industry.
It's a real fun market to be in with loads of opportunity for increasing business.
I have worked with large chains of hotels and family run hotels, large holiday parks and exclusive retreats. But there's one thing that they all suffer from - spare capacity and sometimes low room rates.
An international hotel chain with 120 establishments used to work on 70% targeted capacity, we increased that year on year by an average of 5% per annum until they had around 90% capacity for most of the year.
It doesn't matter whether it's a Hotel, Leisure Club, Caravan Resort or Activity Centre, the principles are the same. It comes down to developing a great set of USP's, good branding and innovative on and off line promotions. There's been a lot of talk about the "Staycation" phenomenon where people are choosing to stay in the UK rather than taking their breaks abroad, so it's really important to get your message out there. It's a crowded market so it's important to really develop those USP's and get marketing.
